The trip was well organised with flights at good times and the hotel though fairly average was in an ideal location. Tickets were waiting on arrival and the game was everything that we'd hoped for' even getting to see Messi close up at the end of the game. For my two football mad sons it was a dream of a weekend! The city was beautiful, we wandered through Las Ramblas taking in the sights visiting the Olympic stadium and after going to mass, we spent Sunday on the beach, what more could you ask for? I am hoping to return for a sightseeing trip with my wife.
We had a fantastic time and Rebecca was brilliant in organising the trip, everything was sorted, she even checked us in for both flights, we only had to turn up! the city was beautiful and to be fair the weather was really good as well, the football was a brilliant experience which we would do again, next time we would get better seats but it was still a great atmosphere!
Trust FootballBreak, Rebecca really helped us and gave good travelling advice from the airport to the hotel and good advice to get to the stadium, we would spend a bit more on the tickets but there was alot of people on my stag do 23 in total so we needed to keep costs down but it would be worth spending a bit more
Having never been on a football break abroad before we found footballbreak.co.uk to be excellent as we were able to book the complete package with them and not have the hassle of trying to book flights and hotels separately. Having received our hotel voucher and boarding passes by email all we had to do was arrive at the airport and go to the departure lounge. On arrival at the hotel we found our match tickets waiting for us to collect from reception. The match itself was excellent with Barcalona winning 7:1 and Messi scoring 5 goals. Our seats were by a corner and we were sat no more than 20 rows back giving us a great view. The atmosphere was amazing, nothing like I have ever experienced at a football match before. We returned to the Nou Camp Stadium Tour and Museum the following day and would definitely recommend it. Aside from football we found the hotel to be very nice and the staff very friendly. Barcelona itself was just amazing. Tapas bars, shop, Gaudi etc. We had three days and still did not get to see éverything. I would definitely go again.
Definitely do the Nou Camp Stadium Tour & Museum and you must see Gaudis Cathedral.
I purchased this package as a 16th Birthday present surprise for my son. The party included myself, my son, my Brother and Brother in law. The whole package included flights, hotel and match tickets. The ease of booking was excellent as was the service received from the Football Break representative when I called to check a few details. On arrival in Barcelona we caught the train into the City this was so easy and very reasonably priced. On locating our Hotel we booked in and the receptionist handed over our Match tickets. With a few hours to pass before the match we explored Barcelona everything was within walking distance. The hotel receptionist advised us how best to get to the Stadium and this was to get the metro from a tube station around the corner and the station to depart from for the stadium. Again this was so easy and only cost 2 euros PP. The stadium and the match were superb and despite there being over 90.000 people there we never witnessed any hassle or trouble from either sets of fans. The package meant that we were in Barcelona for 2 nights giving us 3 full days to spend in and around the City. For anyone thinking of visiting Barcelona I can fully recommend this beautiful City and the ease of moving around and seeing the sights. We all enjoyed it so much we are all looking forward to going again next year! Oh by the way the Match was Barcelona v Bilbao 2-0 to Barca.
Get your bearings and buy a street map, locate the stadium. Use the metro for transporting around the city and to the Stadium (so easy and cheap) Get to the stadium early to locate your seats and soak up the brilliant atmosphere. If there for more than 1 night consider the stadium tour well worth it! If its raining take waterproofs a lot of the seating is uncovered. Take a camera. Keep valuables secure. Don't worry if seats are in a high tier the view is excellent.
I recently travelled to Barcelona with my fourteen year old son. I contacted FootballBreak.co.uk who were extremely helpful and informative throughout. We chose a simple but very pleasant hotel which was walking distance from the stadium. Walking back, after the game, the atmosphere around town was wonderful. We had not only just seen Barcelona win, but Lionel Messi score a goal right below us! My son said he will never forget that moment! All the sights in Barcelona, including the street entertainers in the famous Les Ramblas, made this a most memorable experience for us bot.
If opting to stay in a hotel away from the centre of Barcelona, take the option of booking transfers from the airport. Staying in a hotel that is walking distance from the stadium means you do not have to find transport back to your hotel after the game!
