Both my wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Barcelona. I wouldn't recommend the Hotel Derby, on arrival the bar was not open, no tea/coffee facilities in the room and a bit far out of the city for ease of the main attractions. Match and seats faultless, three rows from the pitch, fantastic.Barcelona is a beautiful city and I would recommend the Hop on Hop off tourist bus.
I was a bit dubious about booking this trip as I knew nothing about Football Breaks but I need not have worried. I booked a trip for me (almost 50) and my son (almost 30) as a joint birthday trip to Barcelona to watch the match against Elche. I liked the idea of all parts of the trip being arranged as one but never expected it to be done so well and so efficiently. Prior to the trip I had a few questions and emailed them in. Every time I asked a question I had a reply in under 24 hours. Three weeks before I was emailed the Hotel voucher, Flight vouchers, Boarding passes and some important information about the trip offering advice and a contact number if there were any issues, THERE WERE NOT!! They had even sorted the API for the flights. As for the trip itself everything went smoothly. The Hotel was well located, clean, well equipped and the staff friendly and helpful. They even allowed us to check in 2 hours early after an early flight. The match itself was an experience to remember. I upgraded the tickets to the 2nd level but never expected such seats as we had. Eleven rows back from the side of the pitch right by the dugout. The view was amazing. The whole atmosphere in the stadium was something we will never remember. Barcelona was a stunning city and we had plenty of time to get around the sites. I am all ready looking at other trips using Football Breaks. Madrid or Munich I think!!!
Barcelona is an easy city to get around using the metro but we walked everywhere as we did not want to miss a thing.
The trip was out of this world. From booking it everyone i asked questions to helped me straight away. The stadium and match was fantastic. Without a doubt the best football stadium football has to offer with all the history that goes with it and trophies won and players that play. Madrid was very nice but we spent most of our time at the stadium. The tour was also a highlight.
All id say is visiting the Bernabeu is a must for any football fan. It dont matter if Real Madrid are your team or not this is the place to go for everything you would want from a football trip.
The whole experience was very good the hotel was ok just that the resturant was not up to much only one person in the bar and they were serving the resturant as well so service was slow may be this was because it was out of season. As for the seat tickets for the game I paid the extra for the better seats these were exellent three rows from the front, atmosphere was good.the ease of the package was very good information about getting to the hotel and match time very good.As for Barcalona it's self if we had stayed around the hotel and around the stadium we wouldn't have had a very good impression of the area but if you go get on the tour buses which takes you round the hole of Barcalona and you can get on and off at different stops to take in the sites and the beautiful architecture and the markets .
If you enjoy football well worth the experience stadium out of this world and stadium tour well worth the money also if the game is on the Saturday you can watch the youngsters from the academy playing a match on the pitch over the road from the stadium..
Absolutely 1st rate. Took my son to see Real Madrid…everything went like clockwork, the package made everything so simple. Match tickets were brilliant 6 rows from the front,so great view & got to see the players close up. The hotel was walking distance from the stadium, was basic but comfortable & staff were great, The service from football breaks was outstanding .... everything was booked, the match tickets were at the hotel waiting for us when we arrived. We will definitely book with football breaks again.
