I purchased a football break to Real Madrid v Villareal and enjoyed our weekend. The weather was a bit wet and windy but alas it was February after all.Our flights outbound and inbound were adequate and reasonably priced. You aren't in the skies too long which is good.Taxi a little expensive from the airport to our hotel(€30 for a ten minute journey). The hotel had adequate facilities and was clean and pleasant. We were situated about 5-10mins walk away from the stadium which was handy. The game was great and the tour of the stadium at your own leisure was ideal for the Sunday as our match was on the Saturday evening.Souvenir shop a tad expensive with a Ronaldo 7 shirt setting us back €96.The website was considerably cheaper and was £63 for the same thing!! All in all a good weekend and an experience worth taking out if only to say you've stood in that great arena where legends have played. Our only downside being Man.Utd fans was that Ronaldo had been suspended from the previous weeks red card and we didn't get to see our hero play.....cest la vie as they say.Enjoy.....Andy & Kerry, from Wigan.
Tempting to buy from the souvenir shop but if you can be patient.....unlike myself.....then wait until you get home and buy online.Youll need longer than 3 days if you wanna take in the sites of Spain's capital also if your planning to view the city centre.
I arranged this trip for a surprise for my husbands 40th birthday, and was so happy with the whole experience. Our flight from Luton. Was smooth and on time. The easy jet cabin crew sold us our metro tickets, which was a big help on our arrival. The metro was very easy to use, and we were constantly hopping on and off all weekend. The San Lorenzo hotel was perfectly located in the heart of Madrid. Staff there were very friendly, and the rooms although small, we're very clean and more than adequate. On arrival at our hotel, we were given our match tickets. Wow these seats were amazing, I had paid for the up grade, but was still blown away to be sat so close, the atmosphere was amazing never experienced anything like it before. The next day we did the stadium tour this is defiantly to be recommended. We also were given a free bus tour around Madrid, to which we thoroughly enjoyed. All round perfect trip.
Use the metro, and try and see everything going. Madrid is a wonderful city.
Not used football break before and only came across them by searching on the internet. I went to a Real Madrid game with my son as he watches them all the time on TV in the uk. The flights were ok and on time. The San Carlos hotel we stayed in was superb for what we needed and was in a central location which was ideal. Real Madrid won 4-2 so we were lucky that the game had plenty of goals. We paid extra for a better seats and it was well worth it. Wouldn't hesitate to use football break again.
If using the Metro get a ten trip ticket from the airport and you can use it between you as it is allowed for you to pass the ticket to one another.
My partner and myself booked to stay in Madrid for four nights, which included tickets to see Real Madrid vs Villarreal. The service received from Football Break was top notch, could not fault anything from the trip. Flight information, boarding passes and tickets were sent in good time before the trip, the hotel was booked with no problem and the seats for the match were outstanding! I would definitely recommend visiting The Bernabeu for a match, unreal atmosphere! It was very relaxing knowing that Football Break had sorted all the details out for our trip, and when we did have a query they solved it quicky and efficiently. All in all a fantastic trip to a wonderful city.
Do use the Metro as much as possible, by far and away the easiest way to travel around Madrid! Also, if you are planning on visiting tourist attractions, then I would suggest purchasing the Madrid Card, which is available from the Airport or Tourist Information centres across the city.
Excellent service from FootballBreak when organising and booking the trip. Our party was a Stag Do and had a great weekend away. Hotel was great and situated in town centre, ideal for our trip. Hotel clean and tidy. Breakfasts were great and staff very helpful and spoke good English. Would highly recommend. Took the stress and hassle out of our trip using Football break which was ideal when we had such a large group.
Get the metro 3 day pass for 20e. Excellent value for money and can be used on buses too. Be careful of pickpocketers thou. One of our group had a phone taken whilst using it in the street and another nearly had his wallet pickpocketed.
