The package we had was Hotel and Tickets? We made our own arrangements for the flights. The match was a one sided affair but was worth every penny. The weather was rather inclement but that's not any ones fault. The Aparthotel Galeon G3 was adequate with the staff being very helpful and quite close to the Bernabau Stadium (20mins walk).I would have preferred to have Tea making facilities in the room but that was not a major problem. The Tickets were delivered the evening before the game (excellent), the service from Football Break was faultless so all in all I would hesitate to use the Company again and would also recommend a trip to anyone.
Our Hotel was close to the ground but I think we would have better off staying closer to the centre of Madrid for more choices of Bars and Restaurants etc. Having said that the transport away from the ground after the game might have been a lot of hassle re the Metro i.e. gaining access with the large crowd and tickets for travel on the Metro with the instuctions being in Spanish
Barcelona had so much to offer, and we all felt we intended to return but, longer next time. The outward flight was on time, and we arrived at Barcelona in the sunshine! This, no doubt, was a good omen for our long weekend! The hotel was less than 2 minutes from the underground station, which was easily found after leaving the airport by train. The hotel staff were very helpful and courteous, and our room was clean and spacious. The "Camp Nou" was certainly an experience none of us will forget. The stadium was less than 1/2 hour away from the hotel, and the atmosphere was second to none. Osasuna were mere pawns in a game of Barca chess. Messi was sublime, scoring a hat-trick, and beating the all time goal scoring record for Barca, at the same time. 7-0 reflected their dominance. We also pre-paid for a stadium tour, later in our stay, which was mind blowing! So much history, and we spent the majority of the day, soaking it up. Whilst in Barcelona, we couldn't miss out on visiting the Sagrada Familia - WOW! We found the food to our liking, and the beer, cold! In conclusion, this won't be our last trip to Barcelona, and will certainly organise it again with "Football Breaks"! THANK YOU!!
Confirm which return airport terminal is required in pre-flight paperwork.
This visit to Barcelona was a Christmas present for my father who is a F.C. Barcelona fan. It is the first time we have booked through FootballBreak.co.uk and it is always with a slight concern when you use these services for the first time.
We flew from and to Bristol Airport using Easyjet, again for the first time, and stayed at the Hotel Colon in Barcelona. We were told that the match tickets would be sent to the hotel the day before or on the morning of the match. Again a slight concern would the tickets arrive? This is where all the concerns ended, the flights were great, on time with no issues, we arrived at the hotel around 9pm on the Friday evening with the match being on the Sunday. We checked into the hotel and were handed an envelope containing two match tickets as ordered, no need to be concerned about anything!!
The Hotel had and excellent central location about 5 to 10 mins walk from La Ramblas and was very smart and clean. Barcelona is a wonderful city with plenty to see and do and we spent Saturday sight seeing.
Sunday was Match day, Barcelona versus Osasuna, with a 5pm kick off. We had a taxi to the Camp Nou and arrived about 1 hour before kick off. What an experience it is to actually attend such a magnificent stadium on match day the atmosphere is truly magic. The seats were great with two seats together as promised. Barcelona went on to win 7-0 so what a match to pick. We used the Metro to get back to La Ramblas, that was an experience in itself...
Monday was again spent sightseeing before returning home on Tuesday. This trip turned out to be one of the best weekends we have ever experienced, the organisation by FootballBreak.co.uk was fantastic with no issues what so ever. Booking was simple online and all paperwork arrived via e-mail when it was due. We cannot thank them enough for an excellent trip.
Barcelona is a big city, use the Hop-on, Hop-off buses to sight see and the Metro is good too. Food is reasonable with plenty of bars and restaurants.
Great value you for money, the hotel couldn't be better situated for the ground and a short walk to it. Whilst the hotel was out of the city centre, we took advantage of the 3 day metro pass which only cost 18 Euros for the 3 days and we simply hopped on and off it when we wanted to. As this was the first time I had used FootballBreak.co.uk, I was a little apprehensive as to what the hotel would be like, would the match tickets arrive at the hotel as arranged, especially as we had paid over 3K for 11 lads to go. But I must say there was no need to worry and I would recommend you and will definitely use your services for future breaks. Proffessional and great service from start to finish.
If you want a beer around the ground before the match get there early, there are plenty of little tapas bars around.
I could not fault the entire football break experience. The hotel was just amazing and perfect location for getting to the Barcelona FC Ground. The seats we had for the actual game were fantastic, right on the half way line in the first tier. And also the tickets were given to me when we checked into our hotel the day before the match. Barcelona won the game 6-0 and it will certainly be one of the highlights of my life getting to see one of my favourite football teams win in such an amazing stadium, the atmosphere was unbelievable. Thank you for such a wonderful trip for Valentine's weekend.
Use the metro to get around the City, it is very cheap and easy to use. Very similar to the tube in London and also make sure you watch your valuables and handbags when in Las Ramblas, I noticed a couple of women eyeing up my handbag but luckily I noticed them so make sure you keep a look out for possible pick pocketers.
