I first saw the advert for Football Breaks on TV while i was watching a UEFA Champions League game. At the time i'd been considering three different city breaks: Milan, Madrid and Munich.I thought i'd pursue my booking with Football Breaks and it proved right, however i did not opt for flights as booking this separately was more cost effective.
The booking and advice i received from Rebecca from custom services was exceptional. I was able to book the hotel of my preference and it was a great find!Munich is a wonderfully historical and modernised city, featuring an efficient transport system and a vastly ethnically integrated community. For someone like myself, from the UK, i was fascinated with the sights and sounds of 2 Bus Tours and numerous cross city walks.
I watched the FC Bayern Munich vs FSV Mainz game at the Allianz Arena, one word, simply amazing! Allianz Arena is the best stadium both visually and infrastructure wise it compares positively compared to previous visits to Camp Nou and Old Trafford. The passionate support and friendly atmosphere was a true reflection of such a great football club. Being the penultimate game, the subsequent 2015 title celebrations were magnificent and i will treasure this for life!
Aside from Allianz Arena, the previous home of FC Bayern, the Olympiastadion, was a trip down nostalgia lane. The home of German National Football after past events such as 1972 Olympic Games, World Cup 1974 and Euro 1988. It was a sight i'd only viewed in Playstation games, so i was honoured to be standing in such a legendary sports venue. Would highly recommend the VIP stadium tour for a modest price of 7,50 euros!
Everything on the trip was excellent. The information was clear and comprehensive and the admin staff were very helpful when I needed advice about checking-in bags with Easyjet. Madrid is beautiful and the location of the hotel was perfect - close to everything, yet not too noisy. There are restaurants of every type close by and the city feels the safest I've ever visited. The stadium tour is wonderful and a must for any football fan. The football match was an incredible 7-3 win for Real and included a hat trick for Ronaldo ! A weekend to remember for the rest of his life for my 18 year old who's birthday treat this was. His younger brother wants a similar trip to Barcelona next year for his 18th.
The taxis are very reasonably priced and get around pretty efficiently with the bus/ taxi lanes. The stadium tour in Madrid is a must for any football fan and there is so much to do and see in this great city you will have a wonderful time.
The package was easy to book and tickets arrived the evening before the game to the hotel. The whole trip was amazing.
Take the bus tour! it also works out as a fab taxi!
I booked a trip for six of us to travel to Madrid for two nights, watching Atletico Madrid v Barcelona on the Sunday evening. Having never previously organised such a trip I was slightly nervous at booking flights, hotel and match tickets all via one company but Footballbreak.co.uk made it all very smooth.
We were able to select our hotel from a range of choices, and the Aquaria Negresco was ours. It wasn't spectacular but a very clean and friendly three star, decent sized rooms, really helpful and welcoming staff and a superb location. It's worth choosing a central location, as we did - getting around wasn't an issue as plenty of bars and restaurants were within walkable distance. We were also able to stroll to the Vicente Calderon in around 25 minutes. Easy enough.
Our match took place over the weekend of the planned La Liga strike so there was apprehension about it going ahead, but our contact at Footballbreak.co.uk assured me similar incidents have always been resolved in the past, and so it proved again. The game went ahead. I'd been told tickets would be delivered to our hotel by 10am on the day of the game - and they were, sealed in an envelope and in my name. The six of us were seated together, and we had a great view.
All in all, it was a great weekend and everything went smoothly in terms of booking, and things being organised. I'd do it again in the future, and when I do, I'll definitely turn to the same company again.
This was the first time I have used website such as this and it was excellent. From booking to the end of the trip it was worth the money and very easy to book. The experience is excellent and would recommend to anyone that loves footy.
We Visited Madrid and I would advise doing the stadium tour as well as seeing a game as it was incredible.
